At age of 21, John Kouretas and his family bought Paine’s from the original owners, Delmer Paine and his family, who had operated the restaurant for decades.

 

In 2007 Kouretas sold the restaurant to Tony and Lorraine Garcia who owned and managed Paine's Restaurant for about six years. Eventually, John decided to buy it back from Garcia's couple.

After 42 years of owning, managing the business, and serving Hollister's community, Kouretas sold Paine's Restaurant in September 2022 to the Gonzalez family. Now, enjoying and dedicating his time to his wife, children, and grandchildren in California's Central Valley.
